Join us for a creative afternoon above the city at Leave of Absence , the rooftop retreat at the boutique-forward Alma San Diego where elevated hospitality meets laid-back local charm under the San Diego sun.
Our featured painting, “Island Dreams,” captures a breathtaking pastel sunset with candy-colored skies, swaying palm fronds, and warm island breezes. Soft pinks, peaches, corals, and turquoise hues come together to create a dreamy tropical escape you’ll be proud to display all year long.
Surrounded by sunny loungers, shaded cabanas, rooftop views, and stylish boutique hotel ambiance, this is the perfect way to sip, socialize, and unwind creatively.

🎨 All supplies included, including a 16 x 20 inch canvas
🖌️ Local Painting & Vino artist Heather will guide you step by step.
~ Canvas will be pre traced for easier painting!
👨👩👧 Guests ages 13+ welcome with adult guardian
🍕 Woodfired pizzas, appetizers, craft cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase from the Leave of Absence rooftop bar & restaurant
🍷 Beverage not included with ticket

If you have a party of 8 – 30 people we can book a private painting party at Cafe Alma! Based on venue availability. Fill out the PRIVATE EVENT FORM to get a quote today!

Things to know:
- We require 48-hour notice for cancellations/rescheduling (Cancellation Policy supersedes the refund policy).
- Refunds must be requested within 3 days of purchase. After 3 days a credit will be issued.
- Check-in begins 15 minutes before the event start time. Give yourself enough time to park so you arrive on time.
- Painting and Vino accepts no responsibility for paint on customer or venue property.
- We do not allow outside food or drink. You can purchase them on site. Your ticket does not include wine.
