At Painting and Vino, we believe that art is not just a creative outlet—it’s a way to connect with the world around us in unique and meaningful ways. That’s why we were beyond thrilled to be featured on azpm, Southern Arizona’s PBS and NPR Station, for our recent collaboration with the Ironwood Pig Sanctuary in Marana, Arizona.
A One-of-a-Kind Experience
“Painting with Pigs” is exactly what it sounds like—a heartwarming and interactive painting event where attendees create art while spending time with the rescue pigs at Ironwood. The event is designed to bring awareness to the sanctuary’s mission of rescuing and caring for abandoned and neglected pigs while providing participants with an unforgettable artistic experience. Guests enjoying step-by-step painting instruction while surrounded by curious and friendly pigs. Laughter, creativity, and plenty of snout boops made the experience truly special. Some pigs even left their own artistic “hoof prints” on canvases, making for a unique and memorable masterpiece!
Bringing Awareness Through Art
The azpm feature highlights how “Painting with Pigs” combines creativity, community, and compassion. Guests not only get to paint in a scenic outdoor setting but also interact with the pigs, learn about their stories, and understand the importance of animal rescue efforts. The Ironwood Pig Sanctuary has been a safe haven for hundreds of pigs, and we are honored to support their work through events like these. Who knew a little oink-spiration could go such a long way?
A huge thank you to azpm for featuring our event and helping us share this inspiring experience with a broader audience. And of course, a special shout-out to Mary Schanz and her team at Ironwood Pig Sanctuary for their incredible work in rescuing and caring for these amazing animals.
