Robert Burcar draws and paints multi-layered, representational work based on his feelings and connection to the subjects. He explores a wide range of themes, including portraits of actors and musicians, figurative environments, wildlife, cartoons and old-world landscapes/cityscapes. He is inspired by pop culture, history, personal narrative, vintage film, music, and illustration. With a strong desire to keep his inspirations fresh and acknowledged, Robert explores all ends of the mood spectrum, from the light to the dark, the magical to the strange.
Robert is a Montana native and professionally trained in Fine Art and Illustration from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Upon his arrival in Monterey, California in 2013, Robert began his professional career by working as a sculpture wax detail artist while showing his paintings in local exhibitions. Today, his work is collected by individuals around the globe. He is also an art instructor for students of all ages, including portrait and landscape painting classes for adults as well as private lessons for children. Most recently, Robert moved to Los Angeles to begin a new chapter, where he plans to continue teaching, painting, and exhibiting his work.
Join Robert for an upcoming paint and sip event in the Los Angeles areas including Culver City, Hollywood, Santa Monica, Venice and Marina Del Rey. Our painting lessons for adults have a twist in that they are held at restaurants so you can enjoy food and drinks for purchase while you paint.
