How summer transitions to the fall color palette?

Hello, FALL COLOR PALETTE!

How does summer transition to the fall color palette you ask? I can’t believe that it is almost September! The month that sends a gentle reminder that the end of the summer is here. Time flies in the summer months when the kids are out of school and vacations are planned.  I find myself leaning toward earthy fall colors when we lean into the Fall!  It is still hot enough for the hottest late summer colors as well as early fall days. For example rich greens, golden yellows, mauvy pinks and reds, creams, beiges, browns, etc.

How do we change to fall when painting?
Fall Color Palette Hello Fall

It is easy to mimic autumn just by amping up the fall tones. With the colors mentioned above and with burgundy, deep greens, mustards, etc.

The colors in nature in additon to the cozy feelings autumn brings us, people are always stopping to take it in. Like a pumpkin patch, an apple orchid, the autumn equinox, and harvests. These are all against the backdrop of the fall season.

Painting and Vino’s fall color palette

Fun and enjoying feeling is embraced in so many ways. I personally get a real sense of fall when I can sip on a warm cup of coffee with pumpkin flavoring. Some start to get in the mood with sweater weather as well as the forever-changing leaves and crisp air. Another way to get in the fall season is to partake in a paint and sip class with Painting and Vino. You can find out what we have in store for you this September. You can request a private class with a custom design that gets you in the mood for a fall color palette.

All in all, Fall is really one of the most nostalgic times of the year because the season always seems to prepare us for what is coming. Daylight savings, Halloween, Thanksgiving, as well as winter. But that is for another day. Fall is definitely an atmosphere therefore we like to think we help bring it to life with a brush and canvas while sipping on an aged wine or holiday limited edition brew. Regardless, join Painting and Vino for a painting experience that will have you falling in love with fall. Check out upcoming events. Nothing says fall like gathering with people and ones you love.

The act of painting is more fun and engaging than sitting next to people watching a film. It is also far less competitive… depending who you have join you than fantasy football or trivia night.

Enjoying the company of others, whether it is family, friends, colleagues, etc you can rest assure everyone will enjoy delicious food and drinks amongst one another.

Why a Wine & Painting Party

Connecting with others in person is a positive boost to your emotional well-being. It also gives you a chance to bond, reconnect, or build synergy with co-workers.  Re-creating a picture will give your group a place to to feel good and focus on your artwork, nothing expresses your feelings more than you with a paint brush, so have fun.

We have found in most events, by the end if not all, some are surprised at how well their paintings turned out. What a great booth for your self-confidence.

Think you are too old or young, not your thing? Did you know painting has shown to improve not only your emotional health but motor skills as well. So push away your phones, keyboards, etc and grab a paint brush with us! Another fun tidbit is your concentration and possibly overall distractive personality also will improve as well research suggest. Matter a fact, it has been proven that many enter a state of creative flow when engaged in painting and some have even experienced forgetting the temperature of their surroundings. Interesting for sure, isn’t it?

Give yourself plenty of timely booking your party as early as possible in advance with our artists –Don’t forget to give your guests enough time to RSVP.  We suggest at least 2 weeks in advance or as early as a month in advance to ensure an artist is available. A month in advance may seem too much, but everyone get busy and booked up. Getting final headcount in advance will also be important for your artist and overall planning of supplies and space needed as well as time for set up. painting (runs 2 hours to 3 hours depending on difficulty), and take down. Your guest will also need breaks and time to refill their drinks and nibble on some food. So plan for 4 hours minimum.

If you are having it in your home, you can alway suggest to your guest a potluck and to BYOB or favorite bottle of wine. People like to help! Whatever you do, don’t overthink it. You will also need to consider a place for your guest to paint and sip at. Though our artist come with all that you need to paint, we do not provide the tables and chairs for your guest.

Like I mentioned earlier, you can ask about one of our partner venues as a location for your party. We may be able to suggest the perfect place. Our venues are places normally with food and alcohol, if not at least alcohol for your sipping pleasure.

Choosing the theme of your Painting Party

Choosing a theme helps narrate the evening. Our artist have a portfolio of pre-created designs along with holiday themed painting for you to choose from or you can request a custom one as well.

So if you are planning a party in the upcoming months, fall themes or halloween focused paintings might be perfect for your party.

Be sure to ask your artist the level of difficulty, especially to not over complicate the event designed to be relaxing and fun.

We look forward to hosting your event!

5 Reasons You Should Try New Things and Why!

Five Reasons You Should Try New Things and Why!

Why is trying something new can change our lives and give us happiness…

  • When you try something new, such as painting, your brain and body are being challenged. Our brain inactivity or unused abilities are now stimulated. It causes an instant boost reaction to our neurotransmitters, results in us feeling good.
  • Trying something new changes our perspective and allows us to see things in a different light. Sometimes observing something we would of missed before or possibly chose to ignore. This allows us to see new and exciting possibilities.
  • Trying to paint, even if it is scary and intimidating, helps us step out of our comfort zone. Therefore causing new feelings that enlighten and help us recognize other opportunities and potential.
  • Trying something new can also break the daily monotony. In result causing stimulation of our intellectual being as well as our emotional and physical self.
  • Finally, trying new things causes a chain reaction where you will be braver to experience other new things with endless possibilities.

So why is “Painting” a good one to try?

Painting tends to both take you out of your norm. Unlike many new things you experience, this is a self journey. The act of painting is also known for it ability to help with emotional wellness, brain power, memory and much more.

Another benefit to painting is it requires little to no experience to get started. Some find it rejuvenating and spiritual. Others find a passion that they didn’t know they even had by trying this new thing.

I am not good at art so why take up the arts? Is it even possible to be an Artist?

I am NOT good at ART! Is even possible to be an Artist?

When you were young, people probably praised your artwork. Those compliments more than likely gave you the enthusiasm to continue creating more and more art in your childhood. Then it occurred to you, that maybe you were not! You joined art classes with your peers and maybe even a contest or two. To only find failure on the other end. You started to compare yourself to those who seemed to have a NATURAL knack for the arts. Maybe even struggled with confidence. You possibly excepted you are Not an Artist?!? I am NOT good at Art

So the question is if you were a good artist? Naturally slipped away and you accepted the fact that it wasn’t your forte. However, I am here to tell you that you are an ARTIST. You are talented. You have abilities that no other possesses. Wait!!! Don’t roll your eyes just yet and dismiss what I am saying!
Hear me out…

Instead of burying your head in the sand, I want you to do a little self-challenge. Many of your famous artists of the centuries had the same outlook as you at one time or another. Research a few of them. Even your peers who look seemingly flawless have self-doubt about what they are creating and possibly throw a few away in hatred of their own creations. Come to except you may not be the best or never will be. This may seem trivial or counterproductive to what I am about to tell you. However, to really come into your own abilities and talent (that is right talent) you will need to strive for improvement AND accept failure at many junctions.

I suggest, taking an interest in tutorials, visiting a class, and even attempting a hundred more pieces before you realize you are in fact an ARTIST! Determination can fuel you more than anything, that goes for anything in life really.

Ever heard the saying “the eye of the beholder“, well it is a natural ego state of our own self to be critical of ourselves and our worth. Just as you put the paintbrush down or walk away again… Someone just might have an “eye” for your art! I have found throughout the years that my paintings are of interest and truly give more people than a picture with imperfections but in fact, give people feelings. Those feelings could be love, memories, fulfillment, and enjoyment. Your art gives others value and inner emotions that I can’t even describe.

For example, visiting a foreign place or seeing a catastrophe live or in a photograph. It gives you a feeling, of what type is up to the viewer. How are you to know what that feeling really is? You yourself have your own feelings and mind of interpretation. Let the work interpret your art! share it with the world. Become the artist you are inside and bring it to the outside. Try if you will…

You can make art because everyone has a unique way of looking at things. And when you express yourself, that becomes your art. Everyone is an artist in their own way. But remember to have FUN!

Visit a museum, visit an art gallery, or attend a Painting with Vino Class and see other Artists do the unthinkable. Be ARTIST!

How to Paint with different mediums

It is all about the Paint Medium

The knows of painting Mediums can be endless in the ARTs when it comes to selecting materials to use in your art pieces. It goes back centuries throughout the world. There are many Techniques of using each medium as well, that takes the ordinary and becomes extraordinary. We will dip into some different types of mediums… you may even recognize a few of them.

In the past, some mediums were more prominent and largely used in well known painters masterpieces. As time goes on, we started to hone into the endless possibilities and even mixed mediums have been utilized to transform a single piece.

What are Paint Mediums?

The question isn’t that simple however, One way we can describe art by it medium use, is as painting, drawing, sculpture, print, etc.
Then you could go as far as describing the types of materials that artists use as well as the type of paint used. For example, the medium of oil paint or vastly known acrylic paint. There is plenty of option beyond those as well that we will discuss along the way. Once a medium or mediums have been selected for the piece, the artist ability and knowledge can use techniques to incorporate it.

Let’s dive into the Acrylic Paints for a few, Acrylic paint is one of the most popular paint mediums and easy to use, particularly with beginners, mostly for its easy use. Most paint brushes work with Acrylic paints as well, making it quite accessible and very quick clean up. Though there are lots of benefits of the use of Acrylic Paints, there are some cons. One of them is the pigment can appear less brilliant. Fortunately, there are a some helpful tips around this. Adding acrylic paint mediums to your basic paints can make them thicker, change the texture, and brighten the end results. In most art stores, they also have mediums you can add to your acrylic paint, fore example being gel, thickner etc.
So if your are a beginner, I highly suggest the Acrylics and fiddling with it and the additives.

Now, as any painting can express movement and stillness, Watercolor has its own abilities and advantages. Watercolor medium does require particular paper medium due to its long drying time and water base. This also provides the artist ability to move colors across the art. Absorbing the bright paper or canvas and mixing colors as you illustrate your piece. However, unlike acrylic be aware… patience is key because of the paint ability to easily bleed and run into unwanted parts of your painting.

Like history tells us, Oil Medium was vastly used in history, and probably for flexibility to it takes ays to weeks even to dry, Giving the artist time to influence the art before finishing and appreciated for it rich colors. However, it can crack, but does add a unique texture as well. The paint is versatile and can also be mixed with other mediums as well to achieve different results.

For some, Gouache paints is popularly used for its opaqueness and it matted finish. Though it isn’t watercolor, a little water can give a nice gradient to the art. Just keep in mind, it tends to take on underlaying colors as you reapply colors on top of. I like the opaque ability and uses personally on darker or transparent mediums to pop out and it lack of gloss.

When we take these facts and learn the techniques of each, it easy to see where it might take us in the painting journey. Play with the colors a the texturing that can be done with your art. Even mixing the mediums can make a huge difference in the outcome as you can see by their advantages and disadvantages. Like any artist, you start with an empty canvas/paper/etc…. and the end is for you to create.

So I invite you to paint your next piece with us. We visit many places near by and you can pick up a paintbrush with help from our artist and learn techniques.
