Wine in Arizona: Two New Venues to Love
Venue Spotlight: Merkin Vineyards and Peacock Wine Bar
Here at Painting & Vino East Phoenix, we have a real passion for amazing wine. Even better when we combine that amazing wine with a fun and approachable activity that anyone can participate and excel at: painting. We have partnered with two new venues this season to bring exceptional wine to our palate and paint to our palette.
In Old Town Scottsdale, you will find a beautifully appointed tasting room called Merkin Vineyards where they serve amazing wine from their Arizona winery of the same name, located in Cottonwood, AZ.
This artistically decorated room features a logo based on Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man and a decorative circular lighting fixture made of hundreds of empty Merkin wine bottles.
You’ll find that their menu and their signature red wine called Chupacabra Red are sure to ignite your senses. Merkin Vineyards is owned by Maynard James Keenan, the front man from the band Tool. It’s an edgy, yet modern, classy, yet bold, fun and unique place to spend an evening. You will love their artisanal, organic foods sourced from local farmers. The servers wear custom leather aprons with buckles that look like the authentic carving uniform of a meat shop, perfect for slicing fresh charcuterie for their beloved protein boards to pair with their wine. Our first event at Merkin last month was a hit, and we have some amazing classes coming up here in September and October. Our space here is limited to just 16 painters, so you will want to check out this amazing venue while there are still a few seats available.
In Downtown Gilbert, you will find a brand new restaurant that features an amazing collection of wines from all over the world: Peacock Wine Bar.
The room is picture-perfect as if it stepped right out of the pages of a home decor magazine. You will find ornate silver and gold, sparkly peacock art on the walls and a full wall of wine bottles showing their impressive range of fine wines.
Their gorgeous and comfortable blue, teal and purple crushed velvet sofas will invite you to sit and stay awhile.
Their cheese, chocolate and charcuterie boards are expertly planned to pair perfectly with selected vintages.
The bright glassware, white tabletops, and plush carpeting make you feel like you’re fine dining with royalty. You will love the upscale ambiance, and the inviting warmth of this cozy, yet posh wine bar.
Our first painting event here is scheduled for October 15th. Help us kick off an amazing painting and wine relationship by filling the dining space with painters!
I can't wait to see you at one or both of these amazing new venues. The settings are both perfect for a fun evening of painting, and you'll love the unique wines they have to offer as well! Check out the events at these venues, as well as my other events throughout the east valley here at my website.
