Born in Southern California, since the moment Susie could hold a crayon, she's been drawing and painting. From art classes in school, to painting set designs for theatre groups, she's loved it all. In college, although she continued to paint, her interests took a turn towards graphic design and advertising. And so a career in Advertising began. Illustration, logo design, computer graphics, ad and marketing campaigns, working with creative teams and clients. It was fun and exciting. Her background of drawing and illustration helped in her career, but she was missing the world of fine art! So in 2004 Susie went back to painting, taking classes in watercolor both in studio and plein air.
Currently living in Carlsbad, CA she is a member of the San Dieguito Art Guild. Her watercolors have received numerous awards in the monthly shows at the Off Track Gallery in Encinitas, CA. Susie throughly enjoys inspiring others to believe in themselves, to spark that creative inner child and just go for it! Now she is able to share that passion as an art instructor with Painting and Vino.
